Personal Injury

Personal InjuryWhat happens if I file a lawsuit?

Basically the affected becomes the applicant and the person responsible or the cause of your injury becomes the defendant / a. Normally the lawyers of both parties gathered the facts and share documents, questionnaires (interrogatories) or statements. After this process in many cases both attorneys reach an agreement and there is no need to go to trial. A small percentage of such cases go to trial.

When we reach an agreement without the necessity of bringing the case before the court, this means that the applicant agrees to receive money in exchange for dropping the case against the person who was the cause of the injury. To this end sign a document freeing the defendant from any liability. Obviously, the attorney shall advise the defendant of the best. But the decision to accept an agreement is reached solely on the applicant, not the attorney.

Then the plaintiff will receive compensation. Such compensation may include coverage for expenses incurred for medical care, part of lost wages and compensation for lost future wages. It is also compensation for pain and suffering.
